A former guard at the US embassy in Oslo has been convicted by the Court of Appeal of aggravated espionage, reports NRK.
The man is sentenced to three years and six months in prison – one month less than he was previously sentenced to by the district court, according to the Norwegian public broadcaster.

According to prosecutors, he has been guilty of gross illegal intelligence activities and gross disclosure of state secrets.
The embassy guard has said that the US embassy’s stance on the Israel-Palestine issue led him to first contact Russia and then Iran. He has admitted that he shared information with agents from both countries.
