Syrian, Norwegian migration officials discuss cooperation in Oslo

Syrian and Norwegian officials discussed immigration procedures and the situation of Syrians living in Norway during talks in Oslo on Thursday aimed at strengthening bilateral coordination.

Nahla Othman, director of the Expatriates and Refugees Department at Syria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, met Snorre Sæther, director general of the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI).

The talks covered the framework and procedures governing Norway’s immigration system and reviewed issues concerning members of the Syrian community in the country.

The two officials also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination on matters affecting Syrians living in Norway.
