Two dead, one injured after shooting in Norway

Two people have died and one is seriously injured after a shooting in Norway, police say, according to Norwegian media.

Three people are reported to have been shot in Halden, Norway, according to police.

“We received information that people had been shot. We now have a perpetrator in custody,” task force leader Gisle Lindheim Sveen writes in the police log at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning, according to NTB.

According to police, three people were involved. Large resources have reportedly been sent to the scene and images show heavily armed police cordoning off a gravel road in a forested area.

The police also write that there is no danger to the public, but say they are currently unable to answer any more questions.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning in the municipality of Halden, in southern Norway on the border with Sweden. The municipality has now activated a crisis team. They are working to get an overview of the situation and are preparing to take care of relatives, the chairman of the municipal board, Fredrik Holm, told VG.
